Chesed Shel Emes Places Their 100th Matzeiva In Under 18 Months At Cemetery For Meisei Mitzvah

December 31,2015

By YWN

The event happened a few days ago.

The organization called, “Chessed Shel Emes” had purchased some land about 18 months prior in Woodridge, New York.

The land was used to create another Jewish cemetery, specifically for people who have no relatives to look after them.

Now less than a year and a half later, this past Sunday, they have just put up their one hundredth Matzeiva. It is now Thursday, and there are 102 Matzeivas.

What is Chessed Shel Emes, and what does it do?

The name, of course, speaks for itself.

Chessed Shel Emes is an organization with over 700 volunteers that engages in the ultimate Mitzvah, a mais mitzvah. Unfortunately, there are thousands of shomer Shabbos Jews across the country that pass away with no relatives to take care of them after they pass away in a manner that befits them.

Chessed shel Emes has a cemetery in Liberty, New York. There are 350 plots there that are now filled due to this organization’s efforts. Since this organization was started, over 1500 neshamos have received a proper kvurah and taharah.

Chessed Shel Emes has 5 other cemeteries in the New York Metropolitan Area: 4 in Long Island and 1 in New Jersey.

This organization also has two dayanim that paskin on all that they do – Rav Yechiel Shteinmetz of Monsey Shlita and the Kussover Rebbe, Rav Shraga Aryeh, Shlita.

The leader of this remarkable organization is Reb Mendy Rosenberg, a leader of a Vishnitz Chevra Kadisha. When he isn’t running Chessed Shel Emes, he dispatches for Shomrim. And oh yes. He and his brother own and operate a tire shop, Marcy Tires, in Williamsburg.

Mi K’amcha Yisroel!
